Hitter: Lara Gillespie, Simpson College, Lake Park, Iowa/Harris-Lake Park
Gillespie, a senior outside hitter, led the team in kills and was second in digs as Simpson won six of seven sets on the weekend to win the Iowa Conference Tournament. She had 29 kills, including a match-high 16 against Wartburg in the IIAC Tournament final.
Volleyball (libero/DS) – Brittany Friesth, Simpson College, Adel, Iowa/Adel-DeSoto-Minburn
Friesth, a senior libero, averaged 4.29 digs per set as the Storm won the Iowa Conference Volleyball Tournament. She notched 15 kills against both Loras in the semifinals and Wartburg in the final

Hitter: Britlyn Sieck, Wartburg College, West Union, Iowa/North Fayette
Sieck, a freshman outside hitter, was named to the all-tournament team at Illinois Wesleyan’s Barker Chevrolet Classic III as she helped the Knights to a 3-1 record. With 88 kills during the week, she surpassed 400 kills for the season – the first Wartburg freshman outside hitter to do so since former standout Ashley Rodgers did so in 2003. She has a streak of five straight matches with double-digit kills.
Libero/def. specialist: Brittany Friesth, Simpson College, Adel, Iowa/Adel-DeSoto-Minburn
Friesth, a senior libero, averaged 5.29 digs per set as the Storm went 2-3 during the week. She totaled 111 kills, registering double-digit digs in each match and surpassing 30 in a five-set win at Wartburg (32) and a four-set loss to Carthage (34).

Hitter: Emily Cory, Luther College, Indianola, Iowa/Indianola
Cory, a sophomore outside hitter, was named to the all-tournament team at the Wisconsin-La Crosse Invitational. Luther went 5-0 during the week and has reached the 20-win mark for the first time since 1999. In 19 sets, Cory recorded 68 kills with a .252 attack percentage, 28 digs, and 15 total blocks (four solo). (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week).
Libero/def. specialist – Michelle Bahl, Loras College, Sherrill, Iowa/Dubuque Hempstead
Bahl, a senior libero/defensive specialist, posted 122 digs in 20 sets for an average of 6.10 per set as the Duhawks posted a 4-2 record during the week. She topped 20 digs on four occasions – in wins over Central and Wisconsin-Stout, as well as losses to Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Wisconsin-River Falls.

Hitter: Megan Dunlavy, Simpson College, Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf
Dunlavy, a sophomore middle hitter, led the Storm with a .475 attack percentage as Simpson went 4-1 during the week, including a 3-1 showing at the Elmhurst Invitational. She ranked second on the team with 53 kills and nine blocks.
Libero/def. specialist – Caiti Hladky, Cornell College, Fort Lupton, Colo./Valley
Hladky, a sophomore libero, led the Rams with 32 digs while helping the team go 2-0 last week. Cornell improved to 18-7 and is currently sporting its best winning percentage in a season (.720) since 1988.

Hitter: Lara Gillespie, Simpson College, Lake Park, Iowa/Harris-Lake Park
Gillespie, a senior outside hitter, notched 13 kills and a .324 attack percentage in Simpson’s four-set win over Central Oct. 7. It was Simpson’s only match of the week. She also posted an assist, a service ace, and two blocks in the victory.
Libero/def. specialist: Chelsea Grieger, Central College, Pella, Iowa/Pella
Grieger, a sophomore libero/defensive specialist, recorded 118 digs in 20 sets (a 5.9 dig per set average) as the Dutch posted a 3-2 record during the week. She eclipsed 25 digs in each of Central’s three victories with a high of 30 at Webster. Grieger also notched one kill, three assists, and five service aces.

Hitter: Whitney Oviatt, Simpson College, Carnation, Wash./Cedarcrest
Oviatt, a senior middle hitter, led Simpson to a 3-1 finish at the IIAC-MIAC Border Battle, as the Storm knocked off No. 6 St. Thomas, No. 17 Concordia-Moorhead and Gustavus Adolphus, while losing a tightly-contested match to No. 19 Saint Benedict. She earned all-tournament honors after leading the team with 60 kills while compiling a .261 attack percentage. Oviatt also led the team with 20 total blocks, for a 1.11 blocks per set average. She recorded her best match against No. 6 St. Thomas with 20 kills (20-5-43) and a match-high .349 attack percentage.
Libero/def. specialist: Brittany Friesth, Simpson College, Adel, Iowa/Adel-DeSoto-Minburn
Friesth, a senior libero, helped Simpson to a 3-1 record at the IIAC-MIAC Border Battle. She led the team with 89 digs during the weekend, averaging 4.94 digs per set. Friesth also posted 24 digs in a five-set loss at Luther Sept. 29.

Hitter: Laura Dudgeon, Cornell College, Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf
Dudgeon, a senior middle hitter, led the Rams to the team title at the Wheaton (Ill.) Invitational with a 4-0 mark. In five matches during the week, she posted 62 kills, 17 total blocks, and hit .400, including a 14-for-18 effort (.778 attack pct.) in a three-set win over Dubuque. Cornell (14-3) extended its winning streak to eight matches.
Libero/def. specialist: Kristin Mortensen, University of Dubuque, Belvidere, Ill./Belvidere
Mortensen, a sophomore libero, posted 94 digs, an average of 5.88 per set, as the Spartans went 2-3 during the week. She reached double-digits in digs in four matches, including a high of 38 in a four-set loss to Concordia (Wis.).

Hitter: Laura Dudgeon, Cornell College, Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf
Dudgeon, a senior middle hitter, became Cornell’s all-time leader in kills with 29 kills during the week. She enters the week with 1,060, bettering the previous mark of 1,017 set by Kori Sims (2000-04). Dudgeon averaged a team-high 3.62 kills per set with a .432 attack percentage in Cornell’s two wins over Coe (3-0) and Mount Mercy (3-2). (IIAC Female Athlete of the Week)
Libero/def. specialist: Molly Steffens, Coe College, Peosta, Iowa/Western Dubuque
Steffens, a sophomore outside hitter, compiled a team-high 96 digs on the week, including 33 against Northland. She also had a team-high 70 kills on the offensive end, including a high of 24 against Concordia (Wis.).

Hitter: Laura Dudgeon, Cornell College, Bettendorf, Iowa/Bettendorf
Dudgeon, a senior middle hitter, led the Rams with 3.88 kills per set and a .463 attack percentage in five matches last week. She raised her career kill total to 1,131, needing only 20 kills to tie the school’s all-time mark. In 17 sets, she accumulated 66 kills, including a high of 23 against Beloit College.

Hitter: Taylor Skoglund, Luther College, Montevideo, Minn./Montevideo
Skoglund, a sophomore middle blocker, tallied 77 kills and a .384 attack percentage as Luther went 4-2 in six matches last week. She also tallied 24 digs and 14 total blocks, being named to the Ground Round Sugar Loaf Classic All-Tournament Team. Skoglund notched double-digits in kills in all but one match, including 20 in a five-set, season-opening win at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn.
Libero/def. specialist: Grayce Hamlin, Luther College, Spring Valley, Minn./Kingsland
Hamlin, a senior libero, posted 108 digs in 22 sets last week, averaging 4.91 digs per set as the Norse went 4-2. She registered 20+ digs in three matches – September 1 against St. Catherine (21) and Macalester (22) and September 5 against Wisconsin-River Falls (26). Hamlin also scored three services aces.
